Switchboard and distribution board inspections

We check every board for loose connections, hot joints, burnt insulation and correct ratings. Infrared thermal scanning picks up problems you can’t see with the naked eye. Switchboard checks are done to AS/NZS 3000 requirements, with a minimum 0.6 m clearance maintained around switchgear doors for safe access.

RCD and RCBO testing

Every safety switch gets tested for correct tripping time and current. Type AC RCDs are no longer permitted for new installations in Australia, so if your building still has them, we’ll let you know. Fixed RCDs  Switches need push‑button tests every 3–6 months and a full trip‑time test with calibrated equipment at least every 2 years, in line with AS/NZS 3760:2022.

Emergency and exit lighting testing

We run discharge tests to confirm every unit holds illumination for the required 90 minutes. Failed batteries, dead lamps and damaged fittings get flagged immediately. Under the National Construction Code, emergency lighting must be tested every 6 months.

Thermal imaging and load checks

We scan switchboards and distribution panels with an infrared camera to find hot spots that point to loose terminations, overloaded circuits or failing components. We also check load balancing across phases so nothing runs hotter than it should.

Test and tag of portable appliances

Extension leads, power tools, kitchen equipment, portable fans, anything that plugs in gets inspected and tested to AS/NZS 3760:2022. Testing intervals depend on your environment: every 12 months for most office equipment, every 3 months for construction and harsh environments.

Lighting, signage and data health checks
