CGF Security & Electrical is based just up the road in Caringbah, so Cronulla is our backyard, not a far off service area. We’re licensed electricians and security installers, which means one local team handles your security systems and electrical work, whether that’s cameras for a family home or a full fit out for a shop on Cronulla Street.
Salt air is hard on anything electrical. It corrodes cheap outdoor cameras, rusts light fittings and eats away at exposed connections, especially in homes facing Gunnamatta Bay or close to the surf. That’s why we use IP66 rated cameras, marine grade stainless mounts and sealed outdoor fittings on coastal jobs. We’d rather install it right once than come back in a year to replace it.
Our CCTV installations range from a simple two camera setup over the driveway and front door to full coverage of every entry. You get 4K footage, colour night vision, motion alerts and live viewing on your phone. Check the kids got home from school, see who’s at the door, or keep an eye on the boat and boards while you’re away.
Pair your cameras with outdoor security lighting on side paths and laneways and night time footage gets much sharper.
Choose an app controlled alarm you manage yourself or a back to base monitored alarm system, where a monitoring centre responds when it’s triggered, even if you miss the alert. You can arm and disarm from your phone and give cleaners or house sitters temporary codes instead of keys.
See and talk to whoever is at the gate before you open it, from your phone, the backyard or the other side of the world. It’s handy for deliveries and great peace of mind if older family members are home alone and wary of door to door scams. For Cronulla apartment blocks, we replace crackly old systems with video intercoms that residents answer from their phones.
Plenty of older homes around Shelly Beach and South Cronulla still have ceramic fuses or boards from the 80s. They were never built for ducted air con, induction cooking and an EV charger at once. We upgrade to modern circuit breakers, RCD safety switches and surge protection to AS/NZS 3000 and coordinate with Ausgrid if your supply needs work. If your board is still fine, we’ll tell you.
We install 7kW Level 2 home chargers for all major EV brands and most jobs are done in a day. Already have solar? A home battery system stores daytime power for evenings, when the air con and oven are running, instead of exporting it for next to nothing. We size it to your actual usage, not the biggest unit on the shelf.
NSW requires smoke alarms on every level. Homes built or renovated since 2006 generally need hardwired photoelectric alarms. We install interconnected smoke alarms to AS 3786 and keep Cronulla landlords and holiday rental owners compliant.
Good electrical planning saves you money later. Our residential electricians work with your builder from rough in to fit off. We plan power points, USB outlets, downlights, outdoor power for the alfresco, data points for the home office and pre wiring for cameras and intercoms before the walls close up. Running spare conduit now costs far less than retrofitting later.
Building new in Woolooware or knocking down and rebuilding? Our site security protects tools and materials while the build is underway.
From cafés near the beach to offices, salons and clinics in the town centre, we look after both the electrical and the security side, so there’s one contact and no gaps between trades.
Our commercial electricians also handle fit outs, compliance testing and power for new equipment.
Flickering lights, dead power points, a safety switch that won’t stay on or a ceiling fan to install, no job is too small. Our maintenance and repairs team fixes the cause, not just the symptom. And because we’re in Caringbah, we can usually get to you fast.
We cover Cronulla, South Cronulla, North Cronulla, Woolooware, Burraneer, Caringbah, Caringbah South, Kurnell, Miranda, Gymea and the rest of our Sydney service areas.

Yes. CGF Security & Electrical is based in Caringbah, a few minutes from Cronulla. We hold NSW Security Master licence #000104676 and electrical licence #487799C, so one local team can install CCTV, alarms and intercoms as well as switchboards, EV chargers and batteries.
Yes. Salt corrodes housings, mounts and connections and it fogs cheap lenses within months. For coastal homes we use IP66 rated cameras, marine grade stainless mounts and sealed cable entries, which last much longer near the beach.
A self monitored alarm sends alerts to your phone and you decide what to do. A back to base alarm also connects to a professional monitoring centre that responds when it’s triggered, contacting you, a patrol or emergency services. Back to base is better if you travel often or can’t always check your phone.
Most homes take half a day to a full day, depending on how many cameras you want and how easy the cable runs are. Commercial jobs vary with the size of the site and we schedule them around your trading hours.
Not always. If your home has a modern board with spare capacity and RCD protection, the charger can usually go straight in. Older homes with ceramic fuses or full boards usually need an upgrade first. We check your load before quoting.
For most households that use a lot of power in the evening, yes. A battery stores your daytime solar for night use instead of exporting it at low feed in rates. Whether it pays off depends on your usage, system size and tariff and we work that out before recommending anything.
NSW requires working smoke alarms on every level of every residential property, including rentals and holiday lets. Landlords must keep them working and replace batteries and expired alarms. We install photoelectric, interconnected alarms to AS 3786.
It depends on the job. A small repair is very different from a switchboard upgrade or rewire. We give you a fixed quote before starting, so you know the full cost upfront, with no hourly surprises.
Yes and it’s the smartest way to do it. We pre wire cameras, intercoms, alarm sensors and data points at rough in alongside the regular electrical work. That avoids exposed cabling later and saves you paying for a second trade.
Yes. We upgrade intercoms, add access control for entries, car parks and pools and install CCTV in common areas. We work through approvals and quotes directly with your strata manager or committee.
